The story of Winterspring.
Winterspring is a high, snow-covered valley in the far north of Kalimdor, east of Felwood and north-east of Mount Hyjal. Its frozen forests and hot springs are beautiful and dangerous in equal measure, and few people live here year-round.
The goblins of the Steamwheedle Cartel do. Their trading post at Everlook, on the road through the valley, is neutral ground where anyone can rest and resupply, and it is often the first stop for travellers who come through the Timbermaw tunnels from Felwood. The Timbermaw furbolgs guard those tunnels and keep a wary peace with outsiders, but their cousins of the Winterfall tribe have grown violent and hold villages of their own in the valley.
Older powers linger in the snow. In the east, the caves of Mazthoril are the main home of the blue dragonflight on Kalimdor. At Lake Kel'Theril lie the ruins of a Highborne city, cursed after the Crystal of Zin-Malor was stolen, where the dead still wander as ghosts. In the south, Darkwhisper Gorge leads toward the slopes of Hyjal, and demons left over from the war against the Legion still haunt it. Frostsabers prowl the cliffs around Frostsaber Rock, and the night elves who know how to tame them prize them above all other mounts.
