The story of Gilneas.
Gilneas is the human kingdom on the peninsula at the south-western edge of Lordaeron, below Silverpine Forest, and for all of Classic's history it was a closed door. Its king, Genn Greymane, never trusted the Alliance: he kept his armies at home in the Second War until the Horde reached his own borders, and afterwards decided the Alliance had brought his people nothing but losses and left it.
To keep Gilneas out of other nations' wars, Greymane built the Greymane Wall across the land route north, finished before the Third War. When the Scourge came, Gilneas shut its gates and its ports, turned away refugees and sent no aid to Lordaeron, trusting the wall and its cliff-lined coast to keep the world out. In Classic, players could only look at the wall from Silverpine.
WoW: Forever's client gives the peninsula ground of its own as a new area, along with the Ruins of Gilneas beside it. It has no map yet, and what Forever means to do with it isn't known.
