Ruins of Gilneas

Story

The story of Ruins of Gilneas.

The Ruins of Gilneas is a new area in WoW: Forever's client, on the Gilneas peninsula at the south-western edge of Lordaeron, the kingdom that shut itself away behind the Greymane Wall. What the client does name are its places: Gilneas City itself, the Northern Headlands and Tempest's Reach on the coast, the dark woods of the Blackwald, Emberstone Village and its mine, Hayward Fishery, and two outposts, Dreadwatch Outpost and Rutsak's Guard. In the live game these names belong to the Gilneas of a later age, after the worgen curse and the Cataclysm broke the kingdom open; whether Forever follows that story or tells its own isn't known yet. It has no map in the client so far.

Written for this site from the game's lore and Forever's beta data, which can change before launch. Further reading: Gilneas on Warcraft Wiki.
