The story of Shen'dralas.
Shen'dralas is one of WoW: Forever's new zones, a stretch of Kalimdor that Classic's map never had, set among the ruins of the Highborne. It takes its name from the Shen'dralar, the last Highborne of Eldre'Thalas, the city that the ogres now call Dire Maul.
The Shen'dralar are a people who refused to let their old world end. When the Well of Eternity was destroyed in the Great Sundering, most Highborne lost the source of their magic. Those of Eldre'Thalas survived by keeping a captive demon, Immol'thar, and drawing on his power, and over ten thousand years the price of that bargain has left them a dwindling, hollowed-out remnant of what they were. Their prince, Tortheldrin, still rules what is left.
In Forever, Shen'dralas brings their story out of the dungeon and into the open land. Its places, among them the Forlorn Gardens, Evenshade's Overlook, the Outcast Hideaway and the Valley of Bones, are contested by others too: the Magram centaurs, whose clans have fought over these lands since Desolace was made, hold the Magram Front, and the Bristleback quilboar have dug in at Bristleback Retreat. How the zone's story unfolds is still Forever's to tell; the beta is all we have to go on so far.
