The story of Loch Modan.
Loch Modan is a wide green valley east of Dun Morogh, filled by a great lake and held in place by one of the wonders of the world: the Stonewrought Dam, a towering wall of dwarven stone at the lake's northern end. Its hills are dwarf country, rich in farms, hunting grounds and mines, and the town of Thelsamar is the dwarves' home in the valley.
It is a gentler land than most, but not a peaceful one. Dwarven digging woke the troggs, primitive creatures of the deep earth, who now raid from camps in the surrounding mountains. The Dark Iron dwarves have been seen around the Stonewrought Dam, and its chief engineer would very much like them gone before they try anything. In the hills to the north-east, the ogres of Mo'grosh Stronghold attack anyone who passes.
The valley also points the way to the dwarves' greatest mystery. At Ironband's Excavation Site, in the south-east toward the Badlands, Prospector Ironband's dig is reaching for the ruins of Uldaman, the titan city where the dwarves hope to learn where their people truly came from. At the lake's eastern shore, the Farstrider Lodge is a hunting lodge for those who prefer the wilds to the town.
