Childlike Devotion

She's goin' to Filo's shrine. She's too old for dat. She's almost thirteen--an adult. Filo is de Loa of Childhood and protects children. Parents pray to Filo for healthy children. It is even said if a child dies, Filo waits with a child in de afterlife until their parents claim dem. Dat is superstition, but dat's why she's goin'. We lost her twin, Janaka.
